Shallow water theory for structured bathymetry

چکیده

A shallow water theory is developed which applies to surface wave propagation over structured bathymetry comprising rapid abrupt fluctuations in depth between two smoothly varying levels. Using a homogenization approach coupled the depth-averaging process underpins modelling, governing equations for elevation are derived explicitly relate local spatially anisotropy of speeds properties microstructured bed. The model applied scattering problems both demonstrate complex characteristics exhibited by beds and provide examples how use engineer bespoke propagation. This includes propagating waves with practically zero reflection loss form through circular bends channels.
